CACTUS Board Game ("the game", "we", "us") is a two-player strategy game available on the web and Android. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the game.

• Player name: An optional display name you enter before a game session. This name is not linked to an account, not stored permanently, and disappears when the session ends.
• Room codes: Temporary 4-letter codes used for online multiplayer sessions. Rooms expire automatically after 2 hours.
• Gameplay events: Anonymous game actions (pieces placed, game start, game end, session duration) used to understand how the game is played. These events do not contain personally identifiable information.
• Device and platform info: Device type (mobile/desktop) and browser/OS, collected automatically for analytics purposes.

We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any account credentials. No account is required to play.

2. Third-Party Services

The game uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — used to sync game state between players in online multiplayer. Game data is stored temporarily and scoped to active room sessions. Supabase Privacy Policy

3. How We Use Data

• To enable real-time multiplayer gameplay between two players
• To understand game mechanics usage and improve the experience
• To identify technical issues across devices and platforms

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties beyond the services listed above.

4. Data Retention

Multiplayer room data (Firebase) is deleted automatically when a room expires (2-hour TTL) or when the game session ends. Analytics events (Mixpanel) are retained in aggregate, anonymized form. No personal data is retained after a session ends.

5. Children's Privacy

CACTUS Board Game is a strategy game suitable for ages 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided data through the game, please contact us so we can remove it.

6. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data profile associated with you. If you have questions about data collected through Firebase or Mixpanel, you may contact us or refer to their respective privacy policies linked above.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the game evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
